How much experience with cars do i need to even think about a career in auto tech....?

so i screwed up with the USMC (Didn't get in) and now im thinking of going back to school for Auto tech...im just curious on how much experience i need with cars to even think about taking classes. i have basic experience (change oil, replaced radiator, change brakes) i just don't want to sign up for something and get in over my head (Wyotech, UTI) i would prolly end up going to my local community college but i have also looked into Wyo and UTI. any tips would be appreciated....btw here is a link to the community college program.....http://www.eicc.edu/adultlearning/programs/career/transportation/auto_tech/index.htmlHow much experience with cars do i need to even think about a career in auto tech....?
It is a good idea to go to school if you want to be an auto tech. Vocational schools also offer Auto Tech programs that may not cost too much and might be easier to get in. You'll learn more stuff and know how to do more work. You probably will get better pay. Have you tried going to the school to look around and ask questions? You might get to be Manager or Assistant Manager at an auto shop, etc.How much experience with cars do i need to even think about a career in auto tech....?
