Hello! I'm trying to change the radiator on my 1999 BMW...?

Hello! I'm trying to change the radiator on my 1999 BMW 528i. I'm having trouble removing the fan. When I try to loosen the 32 mm nut on the back of the fan to remove it, the whole thing turns. How do I hold it in place to loosen the nut?Hello! I%26039;m trying to change the radiator on my 1999 BMW...?
It is definitely reverse threaded. Use a bar to put pressure against the belt that is attached to the pulley. That should hold it enough so that you can remove the nut.Hello! I%26039;m trying to change the radiator on my 1999 BMW...?
Get a long chisel and a hammer and shock it off. I really cant remember if its reverse thread though so ask around.

Holding the belt will not make any difference as the fan has a viscous coupling !Hello! I%26039;m trying to change the radiator on my 1999 BMW...?
Put your wrench on it with the belt on, put pressure towards the right on the wrench and hit the top of the wrench with a hammerHello! I%26039;m trying to change the radiator on my 1999 BMW...?
Left handed thread. Wack the wrench with a hammer; should knock it loose.Hello! I%26039;m trying to change the radiator on my 1999 BMW...?
I agree with Tech....do not put too much pressure on the belt or fan though for obvious reasons!!
