Our AGA does not heat our water or any radiators, can we change it to heat our water, what about heat a few radiators and also how easy would it be to do or would it need to be reinstalled?Once an aga has been installed?
The whole thing will have to be dismantled to fit the water tank unfortunately and as I recall,according to AGA the stoves will only heat the hot water and only if the storage tank is within a certain pipe run. (about 30ft I think - it is 16 years since we fitted ours ! )Once an aga has been installed?
Hi there, if the Aga can still be accessed at the rear where the pipework connections go, you should be O.K. If you look at the side and rear and see if you find the connections, that should be enough for a plumber to connect to. You will still have to get the Flow %26amp; Return connected to your existing system, and disconnect whatever was heating your radiators previously. You will also have to consider controls for the system, such as a pump on the system or gravity feed only. If it is pumped, you can use that to run your radiators and heat your hot water through an indirect cylinder coil quite efficiently.
I would first decide what I wanted, ideally. Then get 3 plumbers to quote for the work, then look at each quote and decide which is best for quality and cost. It does seem a waste to have the facility ther and not take advantage of it.
